The anatomically shaped Sweet Iron bits from Waldhausen feature a mouthpiece adapted to the horse's mouth. Sweet Iron is made of blue steel, which begins to oxidize upon contact with (air) moisture, forming a sweet brownish-gray surface rust. This stimulates the horse's saliva production. They foam better, which increases bit acceptance.
